4/21/25 New York Mets reveal timeline on Jose Siri's injury. The New York Mets will be without one of their offseason acquisitions for the foreseeable future. On Monday, Tim Healey of Newsday reported that outfielder Jose Siri will miss 8-10 weeks with a fractured left tibia, according to president of baseball operations David Stearns. A potential return for Siri this season with this injury could end up being mid-to-late June. Siri was acquired by the Mets during the offseason from the Tampa Bay Rays and suffered his gruesome left leg injury during his at-bat against the Athletics on April 12.

4/17/25 Mets Notebook: Jose Siri to IL with fractured tibia, Jeff McNeil could play center. The Mets are unsure of exactly how long they will be without center fielder Jose Siri, but manager Carlos Mendoza estimates that it will be about three weeks. Siri was placed on the 10-day injured list on Thursday afternoon with a fractured left tibia and promoted José Azócar from Triple-A Syracuse to take his spot. In addition, the Mets optioned right-hander Justin Hagenman and recalled ...

4/16/25 Reese Kaplan -- Big Hole in Center Field Just Got Bigger. Monday night I had a Billy Eppler flashback for an unethical reason. Then word filtered down that the foul ball off the leg of Jose Siri was not merely a bruise as originally reported, but actually a fractured tibia which would account for his crutches and inability to put weight on that leg. The second thing that popped up (and it was not very nice) is that when the Mets are struggling big time to get any offensive production from the center field position and Jose Siri was not even approaching the sub Mendoza level of 2024. Isn't it ironic that when the club was receiving nothing from the bat of Jose Siri and he was down with what was reported to be a minor bruise injury all of the sudden morphed into an unnoticed and unreported fracture?

4/14/25 New Mets trade idea proposes $50 million All-Star replacement for Jose Siri. While the New York Mets have jumped out to a solid 10-5 record, their offense hasn't exactly been tearing the cover of the ball. The club currently ranks 18th in Major League Baseball in runs scored and 24th in batting average. Expected to contribute occasional pop to go along with his stellar defense and speed, Jose Siri has been mired in a 1-for-20 slump to begin the season and may land on the IL after fouling a ball off his shin on Saturday. Fellow outfielder Tyrone Taylor hasn't been much better, posting a .176 batting average with just a single extra-base hit.

4/10/25 Mets urged to target $49.5 million Orioles slugger in midseason blockbuster. It's been a strong start to the season for the New York Mets, but the lineup has an obvious Achilles Heel. The Mets are treating center field as a defense-first position, but Jose Siri and Tyrone Taylor have been a wholly unproductive tandem at the plate. It's still early in the season, but the Mets are in win-now mode, so they'll at least start thinking of potential solutions to this problem so that when the trade deadline rolls around, they'll have their ducks in a row. Would the Mets consider shifting Brandon Nimmo back to center field, his primary position until the 2024 season?

4/04/25 Mets blockbuster trade idea lands $50 million All-Star slugger from AL Central. The New York Mets have a stacked lineup, but so do most of the top teams in this year's National League. Everyone is chasing the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Mets have an axe to grind with LA after losing the NLCS in six games to them last season. Any weak spot in the lineup is worth improving, and the Mets' weak spot appears to be in center field. Jose Siri and Tyrone Taylor may both be good defenders, but neither is likely to give the Mets any consistency at the plate.

3/15/25 Rays preseason capsule: Ace back, but bats must improve. Tampa Bay Rays HT Image 2024 record: 80-82 . He gone: OF Jose Siri, LHP Jeffrey Springs, LHP Tyler Alexander, OF Dylan Carlson, LHP Richard Lovelady, LHP Colin Poche. New faces: IF Ha-Seong Kim, C Danny Jansen, RHP Alex Faedo, OF Eloy Jimenez, RHP Joe Boyle. Biggest question entering Opening Day: Will the Rays score more runs? Only the lowly Chicago White Sox scored fewer in the AL last season, so Tampa Bay will hope for much more, especially after Kim returns from the shoulder surgery that ended his 2024 season in August. There is room for Jonny DeLuca to grow with more playing time, while Josh Lowe will hope to bounce back. The addition of Jansen also should help and provide strong defense

3/03/25 Predicting Mets' opening day roster a week into spring training games. It's been a week since the Mets played their Grapefruit League opener. With 24 days left until their first game of the season against the Astros in Houston, what better time than now to provide a (way too early) prediction of what the Mets' opening day 26-man roster will look like on March 27? With nine spring training games already in the books, the Mets have already shown what they could be in the regular season. Center fielder Jose Siri is showing improvement with the bat, recording three hits — all home runs — in 10 at-bats with a team-leading seven RBIs.

3/01/25 Mets' Jose Siri Blasts HR in Spring Training Game Against Former Team. Jose Siri, once a mainstay in St. Petersburg, didn't go easy on his former team Saturday.
