4/23/25 Athletics put Leclerc on IL due to strained lat. The Athletics placed reliever Jose Leclerc on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a right lat strain. The move came a day after Leclerc departed a matchup against the Texas Rangers with what the team called right shoulder soreness. Leclerc, a 31-year-old right-hander who signed a $10 million, one-year contract as a free agent in January, struck out Adolis Garcia leading off the seventh inning and had a 3-1 count on Marcus Semien when he summoned catcher Shea Langeliers to the mound.

1/24/25 Texas Rangers Not Amongst Teams That Attended Their Former Pitcher's Pro Day. The Texas Rangers' pitching staff had a lot of defections this offseason, as several key pieces from the 2024 roster hit free agency. In the bullpen, all of the veterans with late-game experience hit the open market; Jose Leclerc, Andrew Chafin, David Robertson and Kirby Yates. To this point, Chafin and Robertson remain free agents, while Leclerc landed with the Athletics and Yates was the latest to join the Los Angeles Dodgers superteam.

1/16/25 Two Former Texas Rangers Relievers Among Best Players Remaining in Free Agency. The Texas Rangers have majorly reworked their pitching staff this offseason, which has left some former key contributors still looking for a new team in free agency. Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer went through a collection of free agents still available that he believes to be underrated. There were two former Rangers on the list and both were pitchers last season. Right-hander Jose Leclerc and southpaw Andrew Heaney were both named.

1/04/25 Cardinals Could Pursue $4.6 Million Rangers World Series Hero To Bolster Bullpen. The St. Louis Cardinals are in the middle of a reset and are likely not going to sign any major free agents to bolster their roster. The starting rotation is more than likely set for 2025, but they could still use some bullpen help. Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch listed former Texas Rangers closer Jose Leclerc as a buy-low option to bolster the 'pen for this season. "It's difficult to compute why there hasn't been more chatter about Leclerc as a leading, best-buy option at any position in this year's market, or even one of the best bang-for-buck relievers available," Goold wrote on Friday.

4/01/24 Rangers return to Tampa Bay, where they began '22 title run. The last time the Texas Rangers came to Florida, they swept two games against the Tampa Bay Rays in an American League wild-card series en route to winning the World Series. In October, the Rangers arrived at the Rays' domed home and dominated the best-of-three series, prevailing 4-0 and 7-1 to start their run to the franchise's first world title. The Rangers went 11-0 on the road in the postseason -- a stat engraved on their World Series rings, which also included the flight paths to the cities they won playoff games in. After Texas captured the first two games of the 2024 season at home against the Cubs, Rangers reliever Jose Leclerc walked in the winning run in the ninth inning Sunday as Chicago scored four times with two outs to emerge with a 9-5 victory.

10/17/23 He was 16 when he signed with the Rangers. 13 years later, he's saving their postseason.. Jose Leclerc was 16 when he signed with the Texas Rangers in 2010. Thirteen years later, he's getting his chance to save Texas' postseason. Leclerc notched a dicey four-out save against the Astros in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series on Monday, clinching a 5-4 win and staving off a Houston rally. It was Leclerc's third save of the postseason and seventh appearance; he has finished all seven of the Rangers' playoff games, all seven of which have been wins.

10/14/23 'Ready to go' | Scherzer could make rotation an ALCS strength for Rangers. Rosters don't officially have to be set for the American League Championship Series until 10 a.m. CT on Sunday, the day of Game 1. The big question mark surrounding the Texas Rangers right now isn't the lineup, as the offense is as locked in as it's going to get. Not only has Jose Leclerc been the anchor Texas so desperately needs, but the rest of the bullpen has allowed a total of four runs in five postseason games. The big question for Texas is the rotation and if Max Scherzer can complete a miraculous recovery to be added to a pitching staff that has largely carried this Rangers team through two sweeps of the AL East's biggest and baddest in the playoffs.

7/21/23 58-40 - Back and forth game quickly gets away from Rangers in 11-5 loss. There are several nebulous, auxiliary things that you could point to as reasons for tonight's streak-snapping loss for the Rangers. The main actual surface level reason is that the Dodgers are really good and have a lineup that can wear you out, which it did to Texas tonight. Perhaps instead it was that Jose Leclerc couldn't get through the 6th inning without allowing the Dodgers to turn over that lineup by allowing three bases runners against the bottom of the order? Did losing the lead mean the dugout decision makers didn't want to waste a Chapman/Will Smith bullet in a game the Rangers were trailing which allowed the contest to snowball when Grant Anderson was once again called on to be the late-innings, high leverage reliever that he doesn't appear to be suited for?
