4/22/25 Seattle Mariners Fall to Potent Boston Red Sox Lineup in 8-3 Loss. The Seattle Mariners began the final leg of a nine-game road trip against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday. The Mariners were unable to stifle the potent Red Sox lineup and lost 8-3 to fall to 12-11 on the season. Seattle has lost the first game of all three series on the current road trip. Jorge Polanco got the Mariners out to an early lead with a solo home run in the top of the first inning.

4/17/25 Here’s the Mariners’ plan with Jorge Polanco as he works back to full strength. CINCINNATI — For a day game after a night game, Mariners designated hitter Jorge Polanco was back in the lineup Thursday afternoon — just the third time this season he has started in back-to-back days. The switch-hitting Polanco, 31, has been the Mariners’ most consistent hitter, posting a .366/.372/.610 slash line (.982 OPS) with three […]

4/09/25 Seattle Mariners Infielder Jorge Polanco Proving Re-Signing Him Was The Right Choice. The Seattle Mariners haven't had great luck over the first 12 games of the season en route to a 4-8 record. Seattle re-signed Polanco to a one-year, $7.75 million deal in the offseason. The Mariners brought back Polanco to mainly play third base after he stood at second the year before. Polanco is hitting .417 this season (10-for-24) with two runs, two home runs and 10 RBIs.

4/08/25 Passan: Why concerning Seattle Mariners stat should improve. When Jorge Polanco came through with a clutch a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning Monday night, the Seattle Mariners could breath a collective sigh of relief. At long last, the M's got the elusive hit they needed with runners in scoring position, propelling them to a 4-3 win over the division rival Houston Astros. A hit with runners in scoring position has been a rare sight for Seattle this season. The team has played more games (11) than it has hits in those situations (10), and ranks last in the league in batting average (.139), slugging percentage (.167) and RBIs (14) with runners in scoring position.

4/08/25 Seattle Mariners Utility Player Dylan Moore Putting Together Solid Start to Season. The Seattle Mariners have gotten contributions from unexpected places through the first 11 games of the season. Jorge Polanco is arguably the Mariners best hitter entering Tuesday. Moore was expected to be a key defensive player for Seattle this season.

4/08/25 Jorge Polanco, Mariners bid to subdue Astros again. No matter where Jorge Polanco plays in the field or is listed in the batting order, he just keeps hitting. Polanco's two-run single with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning Monday night proved decisive as the Seattle Mariners defeated the visiting Houston Astros 4-3. The three-game series between the American League West rivals continues Tuesday night in Seattle. Polanco missed the previous two games in San Francisco with soreness in his surgically repaired left knee and in his side, the latter caused by a swing Friday in the same at-bat in which he later homered.

4/03/25 Seattle Mariners Reinstate Jorge Polanco, Option Left-Handed Pitcher, Infielder. One of the Seattle Mariners best hitters so far this season is back in the fold. Mariners veteran third baseman Jorge Polanco missed Games 2 and 3 of the series against the Detroit Tigers due to the birth of his child. Seattle brought up infielder Leo Rivas to fill in the extra spot on the roster vacated by Polanco's temporary leave of absence. Polanco was reinstated from the paternity list and Rivas was optioned back down to the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers on Tuesday.

3/31/25 Seattle Mariners' 3B defense iffy while prospect wows in AAA. The Seattle Mariners are off to a 2-2 start to the 2025 season, and true to their early .500 standing, there is some good and some bad to point to from their season-opening series against the Athletics. Jorge Polanco was the Mariners' best hitter in their first series of the year, going 5 for 10 with a home run that delivered Seattle a 4-2 win on opening day. Once again, behold Ben Williamson.

3/30/25 Brady's Spin: Why Are Seattle Mariners Willing to Play Jorge Polanco at Second Base Again?. When I saw Jorge Polanco shift over from third base to second base in the latter stages of Friday night's Seattle Mariners game against the Athletics, I was confused. The Mariners re-signed Polanco in the offseason, saying immediately they would be moving him to third base. Then, the Mariners spent all spring training trying to get Polanco more comfortable at third base.

3/14/25 Second Baseman Ryan Bliss Ready to Contribute to Seattle Mariners in 2025. The Seattle Mariners second base job was the only position up for grabs when spring training began, essentially. The Mariners re-signed Jorge Polanco to play third base, which left second base vacant (Polanco started at second in 2024). Dylan Moore, who won a Gold Glove award as a utility player in the offseason, was penciled in as the starter when big league camp began. Ryan Bliss was one of those players, along with Cole Young and Leo Rivas.

3/08/25 Seattle Mariners Notebook: Polanco makes spring debut at 3B. The long drive to Mesa (at least by Cactus League standards) was well worth it for Seattle Mariners infielder Jorge Polanco. Polanco, who had been DH-ing in his first few spring training games, got to play his new position of third base on Saturday for the first time this year. “In spring training, they are both very much the same,” Polanco said after the Mariners' 9-8 loss to the Chicago Cubs.

3/06/25 Julio Rodriguez Hits Two Home Runs For Seattle Mariners Against Kansas City Royals. The Seattle Mariners had the closest thing to a major league order in all of spring training against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday. Not including projected starting third baseman Jorge Polanco, who sat after making his debut two days before, the Mariners had a lineup, in order, of: Victor Robles (right field), Julio Rodriguez (center field), Cal Raleigh (catcher), Randy Arozarena (designated hitter), Luke Raley (left field), Donovan Solano (third base), Rowdy Tellez (first base), J.P. Crawford (shortstop) and Ryan Bliss (second base).
