3/27/25 A 'more mature' Tim Anderson returns to Chicago's South Side with the Los Angeles Angels. It was opening day for Tim Anderson — and a bit of closure. It was his first regular-season game against the White Sox since his departure from his first major league club after the 2023 season. The 31-year-old Anderson was in the fifth spot in the lineup, playing second base.

3/26/25 Former MLB All-Star from Alabama back in the big leagues with the Angels. Former American League All-Star Tim Anderson has made it back to the big leagues with the Los Angeles Angels. Released by the Miami Marlins on July 2, Anderson got a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training from the Angels in January. On Tuesday, Los Angeles announced it had selected Anderson's contract, putting the former Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa standout on the roster for Thursday's season-opening game against the Chicago White Sox.

3/25/25 MLB vet Tim Anderson seeks career revival with Los Angeles Angels. In 2019, Tim Anderson hit .335 with the Chicago White Sox and won the American League batting crown, the first of four straight seasons that he would rake above .300 for Chicago. Now, after two subpar seasons with Chicago and the Miami Marlins, the 31-year-old Anderson finds himself competing in the Cactus League on a non-guaranteed minor league contract just hoping to land a job with the Los Angeles Angels.

3/13/25 Former MLB All-Star from Alabama 'grateful' to be back in the game. Shortstop Tim Anderson had three hits in the Chicago White Sox's 11-4 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on June 28, 2022. It might have seemed like just another American League game in the summertime, but it has turned out to the dividing line of a puzzling change in the former Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa star's Major League Baseball career. The game was the 219th for Anderson since the start of the 2019 season. During those contests, Anderson had a .334 batting average and .504 slugging percentage.

3/07/25 Angels' Tim Anderson willing to do what it takes in new start. With Tim Anderson, it is also complicated. The veteran is in Angels camp this spring, forced to prove himself on a minor-league contract. Looking back three years ago, the idea that Anderson would be at this point after becoming an All-Star for the second time would have seemed absurd. There were injuries for sure, but Anderson's downfall was mostly of his own doing, which means he won't get sympathy from many.

2/16/25 Angels Putting Former First-Round Pick In Great Position to Succeed This Year — Literally. The Los Angeles Angels have had a frustrating offseason. Veteran infielder Tim Anderson signed a minor league deal, third baseman Yoan Moncada inked a deal, and the Angels finally got their closer when four-time All-Star Kenley Jansen also put pen to paper. Enter Reid Detmers.

2/13/25 'I ain't got nothing,' says ex-White Sox star Tim Anderson, who's trying to save his career in Angels camp. You might be among the many who weren't aware the White Sox open the season at home against the Angels on March 27. Wouldn't it be something, though, if the one-time face of the Sox is wearing “Angels” across his chest when Opening Day arrives on the South Side? “We'll talk about that when we make the team,” Anderson said, shrugging his shoulders and putting his palms up, silently adding a “too soon” to his answer.

2/13/25 Angels Insider Predicts Former All-Star on Minor League Deal Makes Opening Day Roster. After the Los Angeles Angels lost a franchise-record 99 games last season, they made several moves this offseason via trades and free agency to prevent it from happening again. One of those free agent signings involved former All-Star shortstop Tim Anderson. Because the Angels will have Zach Neto sidelined to begin the season, one Angels insider predicts Anderson to make the big league club out of camp. "Zach Neto is expected to open the year on the injured list after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder in November," writes MLB.com beat writer Rhett Bollinger. "Anderson is on a Minor League contract, so he'll have to earn his spot on the roster, competing with others like Newman, Kingery, and Kyren Paris."

1/30/25 Former Chicago White Sox Shortstop Tim Anderson Details Struggles, New Opportunity. Earlier this offseason, the Los Angeles Angels came to terms with former Chicago White Sox and Miami Marlins shortstop Tim Anderson. It was a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Still just 31 years old, Anderson was once of the best young players in baseball. He spent eight years with the White Sox, winning the American League batting title in 2019 when he hit .335. He was also a two-time All-Star with Chicago, earning selections in 2021 and 2022. He helped lead the White Sox to the playoffs in 2020 and 2021. Sadly for him, his career began to crater in 2023. He battled injury that season, playing in just 123 games and playing to a .245 batting average. That was the first

1/22/25 Report: Angels sign SS Tim Anderson to minors deal. January 22 - The Los Angeles Angels have signed two-time All-Star shortstop Tim Anderson to a minor league deal, USA Today reported Wednesday. The 31-year-old free agent and former batting champion is looking to revive his career after a two-season slump. Anderson slashed .245/.286/.296 with one homer in 123 games in his last season with the Chicago White Sox in 2023. Things got worse in 2024 with the Miami Marlins as he posted a .214/.237/.226 slash line with zero homers in 65 games. Anderson led the majors with a .335 batting average in 2019 and made the American League All-Star teams in 2021 and 2022. A first-round draft pick by Chicago (17th overall) in 2013, Anderson is a career .278 hitter

9/23/24 White Sox fans, happy loss No. 121 day! Try to laugh at it, unless you've just stopped caring. A day after the White Sox tied the major league modern record (since 1901) with their 120th loss of the season in San Diego, and a day before they'd try to avoid losing, by some minor miracle, a record-breaking 121st back at Guaranteed Rate Field, it happened to be the three-year anniversary of the night they clinched their last division title. Tim Anderson homered leading off the game. Luis Robert, Eloy Jimenez and then Anderson again went deep in a six-run second inning. The Sox were on easy street — but looking dangerous, tantalizingly so — as they pulled on division crowns for the first time since 2008 and eyed a second straight trip to the playoffs.

9/22/24 Column: How did the Chicago White Sox fall to such depths? Gradually — and then suddenly.. When the ball met the bat of shortstop Tim Anderson and sailed over the right-field fence of the tiny “Field of Dreams” ballpark on Aug. 12, 2021, Chicago White Sox fans rejoiced. The ball disappeared into a cornfield as the White Sox celebrated, seemingly washing away years of frustration, disappointment and anger. Anderson’s two-run, opposite-field home run gave the Sox a 9-8 win over the ...

8/15/24 Fixes won't come quick in latest White Sox rebuild. For all the pain and suffering the White Sox and their fans have endured through this record-setting season of defeat, not to mention the 101-loss 2023 season, the payoff, if there is one to be had, may not come any time soon. Not next season, with the Sox' rebuild still trying to find traction in its early stages. There are too many uncertainties with the current roster and how minor league prospects pan out to know for sure. When the Sox were losing an average of 95 games during the rebuilding years of 2017-19, the promise of Tim Anderson, Yoan Moncada, Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert Jr., Carlos Rodon, Michael Kopech and Dylan Cease drove the lofty expectations bus.
