8/03/25 Orioles make never-before-seen MLB history vs. Cubs. The 2025 season has long been lost for the Baltimore Orioles. In a disappointing turn of events, the Orioles have become the worst team in the AL East despite being pegged by many as a team that could grow into a powerhouse for around a decade or so considering how stacked their farm system has become through the years. On Sunday, they made history by starting Jackson Holliday at second base, Alex Jackson at catcher, and Jeremiah Jackson at left field — being the first team in the Modern Era of MLB (since 1900) to start at least three players with the same name (either first or last name), according to Elias Sports Bureau via Jake Rill of MLB.com.

7/20/25 Orioles use power to subdue Rays. Fueled by three home runs, the visiting Baltimore Orioles salvaged the final game of a three-game series by holding off the Tampa Bay Rays 5-3 on Sunday. Jackson Holliday, Ryan O'Hearn and Alex Jackson went deep for the Orioles, who ended a four-game skid. Gunnar Henderson added a two-run double. Trevor Rogers (3-1) went six innings and allowed just five hits and two runs.

7/19/25 Nationals sign No. 1 overall pick Eli Willits to $8.2 million bonus. The Washington Nationals signed first overall draft pick Eli Willits to an $8.2 million bonus on Saturday. The bonus amount is a record for a high-school player. The old mark was the $8.19 million Jackson Holliday received from the Baltimore Orioles in 2022. Willits, a shortstop who doesn't turn 18 until December, doesn't plan on it taking long to reach the majors. “I've set a goal to be in the big leagues by the time I'm 20, and that's something I'm really excited to do,” Willits said during a news conference. “Hopefully, I get out there and start playing well and that can be something I can accomplish in the next few years.” Willits took batting practice prior to the Nationals' Saturday game
