8/02/25 Rockies' stunning 17-16 comeback win over Pirates highlights huge night for offense across MLB. Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle had a hard time describing what had just taken place after he delivered the crowning blow in perhaps the wildest game of the major league season. Doyle hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to cap Colorado’s stunning comeback from a nine-run deficit in a 17-16 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night. Colorado won despite allowing nine runs in the first inning. Elias Sports Bureau and MLB.com said this was the first time since 2006 that a team won a game after allowing nine runs in the first inning.

7/28/25 It's 'Highly Unlikely' Rockies Trade Their Sluggers Drawing Interest Around MLB. The Colorado Rockies are one of the teams that are surefire sellers ahead of the MLB trade deadline this season. Despite their underwhelming performance on the field, owning the worst record in baseball at 27-78, there are several players on the roster who are garnering interest from other teams ahead of the MLB trade deadline on July 31. As reported over the weekend, Brenton Doyle and Hunter Goodman are drawing interesting around the league from teams looking to solve their catcher problems and bolster their outfield unit.

7/06/25 Rockies' Brenton Doyle gets real on 'mental battle' of benching after pinch-hit HR. The MLB season can be a mentally taxing grind, and recently benched Colorado Rockies center fielder Brenton Doyle has experienced this to an extreme degree both on and off the field. Doyle cranked the first pinch-hit home run of his career during a 10-3 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. “It's definitely different,” Doyle told MLB.com's Manny Randhawa. After an impressive 2024 that saw him hit 23 home runs and record a .764 OPS, Doyle started the season on a tear.

5/21/25 Opinion | Things Get Rocky in Denver. Share Resize Listen (1 min) Brenton Doyle in Denver, May 19. Photo: Justin Edmonds/Getty Images Jared Diamond writes that Colorado Rockies fans “miraculously” still support the team (“ The Rockies Are a Major Disaster ,” Sports, May 12). Yet there are nuances to those Coors Field attendance numbers. At the Saturday night 21-0 embarrassment against San Diego that Mr. Diamond cites, casual observation showed that about half of the attendees were wearing Padres gear. This is the Rockies' business plan: Come to the ballpark, all you late arrivals to the Colorado Front Range, and cheer for the team you loved in the area you were priced out of. Dodgers, Giants, Cubs and Phillies all make their home

3/29/25 Rockies Journal: Sean Bouchard is Colorado's best-kept secret. The Rockies' game of musical chairs left our heads spinning. Two-time Gold Glove center fielder Brenton Doyle always had a roster spot. Jordan Beck had one, then didn't, and now he does. Journeyman Nick Martini probably always had one; now, he definitely does.

3/28/25 Hunter Goodman gets Opening Day Colorado Rockies catcher job. On one of the strangest Opening Days in all of Colorado Rockies history, they face the Tampa Bay Rays in the New York Yankees Spring Training facility. There will be a lot about this first series that looks and feels unusual but the Rockies roster looks largely the same. The first lineup of the season starts with the two best players from a year ago, Brenton Doyle and Ezequiel Tovar, hoping to maintain or even build upon fantastic campaigns and perhaps even enter into All-Star conversations. Next comes stalwart third baseman Ryan McMahon.

3/08/25 Brenton Doyle: Up-And-Coming Dynasty Player. Shepherd University, which is located in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, has produced four draft picks during its history. Three of those players are people who none of us have ever heard of. But one of them is Brenton Doyle, the center fielder for the Colorado Rockies. Doyle was selected in the fourth round of the 2019 draft, and Doyle has proven to be a great selection by the Rockies. After the draft he signed with the club and was assigned to Grand Junction, the team's Rookie ball team. All he did there was slash .383/.477/.611 with eight homers, 33 RBI and 17 steals in 51 games. And all he has done since then is to continue to hit and show improvement at each level of ball he has played on. So let's take a dive in the Brenton Doyle, and Up-and-Coming Dynasty Player

3/01/25 Rockies Journal: Young players scoff at “hilarious” negative predictions, but Rox have much to prove. One of the most striking things about Rockies spring training this year is the confidence of the young players. Several players — including Colorado's two stars, center fielder Brenton Doyle and shortstop Ezequiel Tovar — quietly told me the team could surprise people. Outfield prospect Zac Veen said it loudly and boldly.

2/26/25 Rockies Mailbag: Which young player will break through in 2025?. Denver Post sports writer Patrick Saunders with the latest installment of his Rockies Mailbag. Pose a Rockies- or MLB-related question for the Rockies Mailbag. Although I'm not expecting much from the Rockies this season, I do feel like there is a lot of young talent on this roster. So, out of the young guys who got significant playing time last year (Brenton Doyle, Michael Toglia, Ezequiel Tovar, Nolan Jones) and the young prospects who didn't see a lot of MLB time (Jordan Beck, Drew Romo, etc.), who do you expect the biggest jump from and who will break out? Thanks, Patrick! — Zach, Fort Collins Zach, that is the multi-million-dollar question of this camp. I will assume you're asking about
