11/06/24 Nick Sirianni explains why Eagles were silent at NFL trade deadline. Howie Roseman has generally been active at the trade deadline. From Jay Ajayi in 2017 to Golden Tate in 2018 to Robert Quinn in 2022 to Kevin Byard in 2023, Roseman has been aggressive trying to improve the Eagles' roster.

4/02/24 NFL’s first senior British coach: Louis Rees-Zammit has impressed but combine does not mean much. It took 17 years of London NFL games and countless heroic failures from wannabe players but, at last, the British are coming to American football. There have been isolated success stories. Osi Umenyiora, born in London, won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants and Jay Ajayi had a strong if typically brief career as a running back for the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles. Far more common are arcs like Alex Gray’s, a convert from rugby union who spent two years on the practice squad of t

10/31/22 This Day In Sports: The Jay-Train rolls into a new station. THIS DAY IN SPORTS…October 31, 2017, five years ago today: Jay Ajayi becomes the first Boise State alum involved in a major midseason NFL trade, as the Miami Dolphins send him to the Philadelphia Eagles for a fourth-round draft pick. It had been a weird year for Ajayi, his third in the NFL. He was averaging only 3.4 yards per carry and had not scored a touchdown while clashing with Dolphins coach Adam Gase, but he had rushed for 130 yards in a win over Atlanta two weeks earlier.

10/29/22 What's it like for Robert Quinn to join an Eagles team with Super Bowl aspirations? Jay Ajayi knows firsthand.. The Eagles were a one-loss team at the time and what would it have looked like if Jay Ajayi came to that team and all of sudden everything fell apart? It would have been insane. The Eagles didn’t splinter after Ajayi’s trade deadline arrival.

10/25/22 Will The Eagles Make a Trade Deadline Deal?. The Eagles are undefeated and have legitimate Super Bowl hopes this season so if Roseman can do something to bolster this roster, he’s going to do it. Just look back at the 2017 deadline when he added Jay Ajayi or in 2018 when he added Golden Tate. If there’s a move to be made, Roseman won’t be shy about doing it.

11/02/21 Eagles News: DeVante Parker among potential NFL trade deadline targets. BGN I feel like I write about Sanders and potential trades in every mailbag, but it remains a worthy topic. I’m of the mindset that teams shouldn’t get rid of talented players for non-premium picks just for the sake of it, but if the Eagles truly aren’t going to use Sanders this year and have other backs they feel like are capable of sizable workload, a split needs to happen. I’ve compared a Sanders trade to the deal the Eagles made for Jay Ajayi in 2017 for a fourth-round pick.

5/30/21 Weighing Philadelphia Eagles' trade options, from Zach Ertz to Julio Jones. The best example of that came in 2017, when Philadelphia added several players to its Super Bowl team late in the process, including trading for starting cornerback Ronald Darby in August and dealing for running back Jay Ajayi at the trade deadline in October. The results aren't always so rosy, as evidenced by the trade deadline acquisition of wide receiver Golden Tate in 2019, but the team continues to fire.
