10/16/24 Cardinals DL Bilal Nichols to miss rest of the season. The Cardinals' luck with veteran free agent defensive linemen continues to be bad. They placed Bilal Nichols on injured reserve on Tuesday and it apparently will end his season. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter , Nichols is done for the season. He is not expected to return from injured reserve. Nichols was said to have suffered a stinger on Sunday in the Cardinals' 34-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers. 5/21/24 Justin Jones new to Arizona, not to Cardinals teammates. The decision to sign defensive tackle Justin Jones to a reported deal worth $30.1 million over three seasons serves to define the Arizona Cardinals' offseason. Jones was one of the first players to sign, but he had connections to Arizona already. “The guys they have here, the guys they brought on — you guys know about Bilal (Nichols) — but playing with Budda (Baker) man, playing with (Kyzir) White,” was attractive to Jones, he told Arizona Sports' Wolf & Luke on Tuesday.

5/14/24 Bears Roster Breakdown: Desperate for Defensive Line Development. Bears defensive line coach Travis Smith works with a group of players being called into squestion, which is rather surprising after last season's surge. Even with Montez Sweat and after the Bears made 20 sacks following his arrival, the defensive line is rated worst in the NFL by Pro Football Focus. Yet, the team did nothing of consequence to help their defensive tackle position and actually lost starter Justin Jones. Their help at edge rusher through the draft is Austin Booker, a player they've described as "raw." "So, the whole thing for a rookie, I call it a race to maturity," Smith said. "For teams that have success in this league, today, are the ones where the young guys play the fastest
