8/03/25 Mike Yastrzemski trade grade for Royals, Giants. At the 2025 MLB trade deadline, the San Francisco Giants made a move that was both painful and practical, sending longtime outfielder Mike Yastrzemski to the Kansas City Royals in exchange for 21-year-old right-handed pitcher Yunior Marte. While Giants fans may be sad to see the longest-tenured player leave, the front office deserves credit for making a forward-thinking decision — and getting real value in return. Let's be clear: this was not an easy move for the Giants. Yastrzemski has been a fixture in San Francisco since 2019, a grinder who made the most of a late-blooming MLB debut and turned himself into a respected clubhouse leader and fan favorite.

7/26/25 Four Outfielders Giants Should Target As Trade Deadline Nears. The San Francisco Giants offense has been bottoming out at the worst time possible, and it appears as though they may need to make another big trade if they want to save their season. Mike Yastrzemski started out the year producing well, but has slashed just .194/.290/.294 with three home runs and 11 RBI in his last 49 games. San Francisco is off to a strong start in 2025, proving that last year's mediocrity was a hiccup and not a trend. Now, the Giants must keep the pressure on.

6/18/25 Emotional after trade from SF Giants, Kyle Harrison now 'stoked about the opportunity'. Mike Yastrzemski knew exactly how to console an emotional Kyle Harrison after the Giants' homegrown hurler “took it kind of tough” when dealt to the Boston Red Sox in Sunday's trade for slugger Rafael Devers. Yes, Yastrzemski's roots run deep in Boston – his grandfather, Carl, threw out this season's ceremonial first pitch for the Red Sox – but a trade is also what brought the younger Yastrzemski to the Giants in 2019.
