8/28/10Blum is not in tonight's starting lineup, but he is feeling better and available for action.
8/28/10Blum was not in the lineup last night as expected due to some side effects from an injection he took in his sore neck. He should be back at some point this weekend.
8/26/10Blum is expected to rejoin the team Friday after having his sore neck examined. "He had some treatment and it went really well," manager Brad Mills said. "We don't know if he's going to be able to be in the lineup, but we're anticipating he'll be ready to play tomorrow."
8/23/10Blum is out of the lineup tonight due to a sore neck. "It's slowly getting better, but it's not great," said Blum.

8/02/10Blum is scheduled to play in a rehab game on Wednesday and could return to the Astros later this week.
7/31/10Blum has begun a rehab assignment at AA. "It's depressing being on the DL, being absolutely useless," Blum said. "The surgery went well, I'm healing fast and ready to get this over with."
7/07/10Blum underwent elbow surgery today and is expected to miss two to four weeks of action.
7/06/10Blum will undergo arthroscopic surgery tomorrow to remove some loose bodies in his elbow. The team will not know how much time he will miss until after the surgery.
7/04/10The Astros placed Blum on the 15-day DL today due to loose bodies in his right elbow. He will visit with team doctors on Tuesday and determine if he will have surgery.
7/03/10Blum's elbow is not getting any better. "Even brushing my teeth hurts right now," Blum said. "It hasn't gotten any better at all." An MRI was taken, but the results are not yet available.
7/03/10OK, this is a new one. Blum injured himself getting dressed prior to Thursday's game. He felt a "pop" in his elbow putting on his shirt. Right now, he is day-to-day after loose bodies were found in his elbow. However, a trip to the DL is not out of the question.
6/23/10Blum will get some more playing time at shortstop while Tommy Manzella is on the DL with a broken finger. Blum is not expected to play every day, however.
6/10/10"We have talked about some things as a staff that we're going to utilize," Mills said. "We're going to run some ideas by some players. The staff has some ideas, and I've got some ideas, and we'll go from there. What I'm looking forward to is being able to get guys like Jason Michaels and Cory Sullivan and Geoff Blum a couple at-bats."
6/06/10Geoff Blum made his fourth start of the season at shortstop on Sunday against Cubs right-hander Randy Wells, but it was his third start at the position in a six-game span. 4/22/10Geoff Blum came off the bench and delivered his first career pinch-hit triple to score a pair of runners in the seventh inning to send Houston to its season-high fourth consecutive win, 5-4, over the Marlins on Wednesday night at Minute Maid Park.
4/05/10Blum gets Opening Day nod at 1B. "It's nice to have your name announced and have people recognize that you made the ballclub, but to actually crack the starting lineup is nice," Blum said. "It's a shame it's going to happen the way it is, having Lance on the DL, but I appreciate the fact Brad put me in the startling lineup today."
3/14/10Geoff Blum will man 1B for the Astros while Lance Berkman is out. "Finally I thought I had worked myself into a decent backup role making decent money, and Lance goes and does this," Blum joked.
