Looking to improve their chances of making a postseason run, they pulled off a blockbuster trade ahead of the deadline. In a three-team deal that included the Tampa Bay Rays and Seattle Mariners, they landed ace starting pitcher David Price. 5/23/24	The Rays have had their number lately, but not this week as Red Sox complete a sweep in Tampa. The Sox hadn't swept a series here since April 2019 when David Price started the final game, Mookie Betts had two hits, and Mitch Moreland homered. Back then, sweeping the Rays was taking care of business for a team that had just won the World Series. The Rays won 11 of 13 against the Sox last season and three of four at Fenway Park last month. Before each of the first two games of their series in San Diego, the Dodgers added a pitcher to their bullpen who might help them in the postseason. David Price was activated off the injured list on Tuesday and Yency Almonte was activated off the IL on Wednesday, ending long stints on the shelf for both.
