Below The Fold

Ladies and Gentlemen:
Welcome to my experiment. This is my umphth attempt at something I was never good at…writing. Combine that with my fantasy baseball experience over the past 10 years (3 playoff appearances: 1 championship loss and 2 first round exits) and we are ‘Below The Fold’. As I go through this journey, I welcome you to join me and fill in the gaps where needed. If you see something that doesn’t look right or needs correcting (yes, even grammatical) please do not hesitate to let me know.
I guess the best way to kick this off is to tell you my story, where I came from and why I’m here. I am the Founder of g.fantasy baseball league. We can be found at
gfantasy.com. I urge you to spend some time on the site to get acclimated with our league, the scoring system, etc. as my column will be referencing g.fantasy. I created the site when I was a college boy with a lot of time on my hands; the site evolved but not at the pace I desired. As a result, I began looking for an add-on and exploring other ways to grow; through this process, I came in contact with Robert Burghardt (Owner and Founder of TG Fantasy Baseball). We have been in contact since May 2007 when I was first interested in purchasing this site. After playing tag and dancing around for several years, I decided that it was best for me to come in at the ground level. So, here I am!
With this opportunity, I decided to move forward with something that many people around me already experience…in-season Fantasy Baseball. I am excited to share my experience and acquaint you with g.fantasy’s owners. As our league gets older and older we hang on to (and overpay) for players we’ve been familiar with for years (i.e. Brian Roberts in the 2nd, Tim Hudson in the 5th). If you’re looking for advice to win your league, this is not the place for you. However, if you’ve exhausted everything on Facebook and YouTube and have time to spare, you may find this interesting. I am preparing to take you through our 2010 draft in next week’s issue; for now, I invite you to peruse our site to see the results from our February 27, 2010 draft.
I look forward to spending the 2010 season with you and opening up our league and weekly mindset to those who care. Again, welcome to my weekly home and keep in mind that we are ‘Below The Fold’ where expectations don’t exist and the masses don’t play. Finally, I can always be reached at
NT@gfantasy.com should you be interested in hearing more.
See you next Tuesday!
